Don’t be such a stranger

Welcome 2015!

So, what, I had one post all year last year? I resolve to try to do better. I am making a promise to myself that I’ll post at least TWICE this year.

There are big things happening in InfoVirtuoso-land these days. Tonight, I deactivated my Facebook account. I gave notice that I’d be doing so two weeks ago, and then I immediately deleted the app from my tablet. A week later, I deleted the app from my phone. I’ve been collecting snail mail and email addresses and I’m vowing to communicate in a more meaningful way.

I was inspired to do this by my son and daughter-in-law. They both deactivated their accounts. I’ve noticed that my DIL prints out photos more often than she shares them online. I like this idea. Especially now that they’ve informed me that I’m going to be a grandma in a few months!

So far, 2015 is shaping up to be pretty awesome. I feel…content. Last January, in the midst of grieving for my mom, I taught myself how to crochet. A few months later, my DIL had her bachelorette party at one of those Paint and Drink Wine studios and I discovered acrylic paints. All of a sudden, I don’t know what’s going on with me, but I’m all about trying to do artsy crafty things. I never thought I had it in me.

With Facebook no longer a distraction and grad school a thing of the past, I plan to enjoy my free time to the fullest. I may be here more often. I may not be. It’s time to rediscover some things I love, and find some new things to add to that list.

Stay tuned…or not. 🙂
